5th International Day of Yoga - 21 June 2019

HSS Kenya celebrated the 5th International Day of Yoga in all major towns with the High Commission of India, and the Hindu Council of Kenya.

The celebrations were done at different weekends of June.

A brief report is outlined below

NAROK

A Team of Karyakartas from Nairobi Vibhag, went to Narok on 30 June to celebrate the International Yog Din. A Total of 54 Family Members of Narok including Sangh Karyakartas, enthusiastically celebrated the Yog Din.

The Narok Hindu Community has welcomed the Sangh Karyakartas to start Yog and Shakhas there soon.

MOMBASA

About 350 Hindus got together at The Oshwal Centre Mombasa to celebrate the International Day of Yoga on Sunday morning 23 June.

The Grand Event was organized by the Assistant High Commission of India, Mombasa, Shree Shyam Dewani Ji, in conjunction with the Hindu Council of Kenya, Mombasa Branch

The Yoga Routine was followed and the all enjoyed lunch

MALINDI

A Team of Karyakartas from Coast Vibhag, went to Malindi on 15th Jun to celebrate the International Day of Yoga on Sunday morning 16 Jun. The Karyakartas were part of a larger team organized by the Assistant High Commission of India, Mombasa, Shree Shyam Dewani Ji

On Saturday evening the team reached Malindi where they were hosted by Hindu Union of Malindi On Sunday at a nearby Open Ground, the IDY was celebrated with more than 80 members of the Malindi Hindu Union and a few others

Overall all felt the great effort by the High Commission commendable and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of the Malindi Hindus

NAIROBI

The Shakhas of Nairobi celebrated the Yoga Din by doing Yoga routines in Shakha with emphasis on Surya Namaskar. All the 11 Sangh Shakhas carried out similar routine.

The Sampark Team took active role in planning and execution of the Larger Event organized by the High Commission of India in conjunction with the Hindu Council of Kenya, which saw more than 1000 people gather at Premier Club on 23 Jun

KERUGOYA

A Team of Karyakartas from Nairobi Vibhag, went to Kerugoya on 7 July to celebrate the International Yog Din. A Total of 42 Family Members of Kerugoya including Sangh Karyakartas, enthusiastically celebrated the Yog Din. The Kerugoya Hindu Community has welcomed the Sangh Karyakartas to start Yog + Shakhas there.
